This debate is hosted by the Division "Employment and Income" E+I of SDC .

This website is our base. This is where we organize ourselves, and this is where we come back when we are lost, when we need instructions how to debate or how to use the software. We can also post our insights here. See the bar on the left.

The News:

January 2007

A Latin American group wants to launch a spanish-language debate to prepare for an exchange event in October 2007. Other interested members are too scatte
red to justify a concerted effort by E+I in Berne. Decisions are:
  1. The english language Debate-Platform remains open and accessible for all. New issues may be brought up at any time, but synthesizing must be taken care of by any debate-initiators.
  2. E+I will support the Latin America group with logistics and technical backup for launching their own platform. It will be attached to this website along with the english-language general group. New groups from other regions can organize themselves and will be supported similarly. The initiative is with the members.
  3. Ownership for the whole effort remains with E+I (Ruth Huber), but regional efforts must be owned by geographical sections in SDC. E+I will provide logistical support.
  4. Ueli Scheuermeier will remain to be available as resource person for methods of facilitation, synthesizing and technical backup to operate the platforms. He will also continue to manage the SDRA website. Contact Ueli for any technical, methodological or logistical issues for organizing further exchange on SDRA.

November 2006
We are rechecking the emails of all the members and assessing the interest to launch new efforts on SDRA.

October 2006
The "Guidelines for SDRA" are published by the E+I Section of SDC. This is the milestone that has been aimed for since the inception of the SDRA effort in March 2003.

July 2006
Ruth Huber transfers from COOF La Paz in Bolivia to E+I Section in Berne and takes up responsibility and ownership for SDRA.

December 2005
Malte Lipcinzsky leaves SDC headquarters to take up assignment in Bangladesh. The "ownership" of the effort is taken up ad interim by Jean-Christophe Favre in E+I Section. Continued efforts to pull together all the feedbacks on the draft theses from the workshop.
("LBL" changes its name to "Agridea").

July 2005
The workshop in Muenchenwiler has pulled together all the insights gained in our debate cycles. A CD is available from Agridea on all the material and photographs of the workshop.
