There are many reasons why somebody cannot join a debate, although
they would like to. Here we try to help you overcome the difficulties:
You have no time to read through all the debate so far?
All you need to
do is read the syntheses
of the past debating cycles. That gives you a sufficiently good grasp of
what we discussed in the past.
For ongoing discussions,
you will only need to read the messages in the debate on the instantteam
(click on the debate-logo upper left).
In case you cannot
read a long document, ask the author to post a short summary.
Tell the
moderator
which issues you are interested in, and ask him to give you a short brief
on what has been discussed about these issues so far.
You have ideas to contribute,
but no time to write them up and post?
Make a very short
sketch of your idea, just a few sentences in whichever language you prefer
(english, german, french, italian, spanish, portuguese). Send them to the
moderator.
The moderator will then try to formulate a post and send that back to you
for editing and posting by you.
Ask some other staff
in your organisation to formulate a posting
You are scared to ask
a question because you don't know if it has already been discussed?
Don't hesitate to
ask even very simple questions on the discussion platform. The moderators
are instructed to take all posts very seriously, no matter their content.
You
can also send your question first to the
moderator
directly instead of posting to the whole group. The moderator will answer
it again directly if it has already been debated. If he thinks it may be
interesting to post on the discussion, he will make suggestions how to ask
it, and you can then post with no hesitations.
You are scared because
your active english is not good enough?
Don't hesitate to
formulate your ideas in french, spanish, italian or portuguese. Send your
input to the moderator
who will then arrange for a translation.
Any other problem, that stops you from joining the debates, please do not
hesitate to directly contact the moderators.
