My working situation
I am working since 2000 in the Labor
Training Program (CAPLAB) in Peru, financed by the Swiss Cooperation
and Development Agency -COSUDE. I am in charge of the
monitoring and evaluation area. We work almost with 60
public training centers located in 10 regions of Peru (they are our
partners), both in urban and rural areas.
My challenge for the workshop:
It will be an excellent opportunity to learn
from others and to share what we have learned about SDRA in CAPLAB. I
am looking forward to get concrete aspects about mobile units, based on
project experiences in other countries. Also concrete ways to
incorporate gender equity and environmental care in SDRA, especially in
the training process.
CAPLAB is in a Institutionalization Phase and we are
interested also in learning from other experiences about sustainable
delivery of SDRA and how to increase local capabilities.
CAPLAB has worked with "padrinos" and
"madrinas", but mostly in urban areas. We want to know about similar
experiences in rural areas.
My contribution
I would like to share CAPLAB experience
in rural areas (short-term modular training in public centers,
complemented
with labor information services). Our experience in working with local
governments, relating the training contents to the development plan of
the region in a territorial approach (economic corridors); use of the
Participatory Occupational Analysis; how we have worked with Ministry
of Education and Ministry of Labour in the construction of Guidelines
about Technical and Professional Training.
My topical interest
How to finance SDRA?
Gender in SDRA
