My work
For more than 15 years I have been involved
in the development business, mainly in Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. Fields
of activities were above all skill development, small enterprise promotion
and micro finance.
For the last 4 years I have been working for the
SDC head office in Bern in the thematic division on employment and income;
I am looking more specifically at small enterprise promotion and skill development.
My challenge for the workshop:
Bridge experiences and good practices exchanged
in the workshop on skill development in rural area with conceptual thinking
mainly regarding providing and financing of services in weak markets
My contribution:
My own thinking based on my field experience,
on my conceptual work and adviser role from head office, as well as on my
participation in different international networks.
My topical interests:
1. Public vs. private delivery of skill development
in weak market with weak public actors: Who does what? Who pays for what?
2. Capacity and Organisation Development related
to SDRA
3. Madrinos/Padrinos
