My working situation:
I work as head of the veterinary section in
the Department of Agriculture and Food of Puka district. I am too, president
of AGROPUKA organization and part-time employed as head of the training and
Advise sector of AGROPUKA project.
My challenge for the workshop
Like many other countries in transition Albania
is facing a lot of challenges in developing the economy of the country and
fighting the poverty and through providing employment for the people, particularly
in the rural areas. Actually, we are facing problems of lack of know-how
of the rural population to develop their capacities. My challenge is to get
experience from others involved in the development of rural areas in order
to apply under the conditions of Puka, the relevant, up-to-date and timely
qualification of the members and the producers of AP including women as well
as men. In this way the challenge contributes to the production of quality
products, which are competitive in the market, to proper application of the
inputs and to the improvement of income and production. Another challenge
will be how to better organize the groups of interest and have a strong and
economically sustainable organization.
I would like to share experiences and best practices
with experts working in such projects of SDC and other organizations, and
the experts within SDC.
My contribution
My contribution for the workshop will consist
on the experience I have with and the farmers in a mountainous, remote and
poor rural area. The experience is related to the development of their skills
in developing themselves and their farms. I would like to give contribution
and to profit from the experience of other participants in the organization
building and other civil society issues. I am one of the founders of AGROPUKA
organization and my contribution will be on how we managed to establish such
forms of civil society in a post dictatorial country. My contribution will
be mainly focused to organization of Training and Advise of the producers
in the rural areas.
My topics of interest
• Livelihood coalitions, in order to have
more information about the concept and how to further develop it under the
conditions of Puka.
• Training Centre (and outreach). There is some
experience in this field due to the support given since 10 years from the
experts of SDC and LBL, but I should like to know better how to design, organise,
manage and fund the training centre in order to reach the farmer producers
with the necessary advice and qualification.
• Capacity and organization development.
