Assistant facilitator during July 05 workshop in Switzerland

My working situation:
Since 15 years I work as a freelancer on rural development and organizational matters, mainly focussing on innovation processes. Most of my work in and for developing countries I undertake within the framework of the LBL-team.
In the last several years I have been increasingly engaged in enterpreneurial ventures in partnership with rural enterpreneurs in Third World countries.

My challenge for the workshop:
I have three functions in the workshop, that I need to clearly hold apart in order to maybe combine them in useful ways:
a) I am the assistant facilitator to Ernst Bolliger. So I have to help keep the process of the workshop under way.
b) I am the online-facilitator of the platform and synthesizer of the theses. So I have to be a resource person about the process of the debate up to the workshop.
c) I am also engaged in various concrete SDRA-type efforts like many other participants too.

My contribution:
My contribution of course will be the facilitation and resource person.

With regard to content, I will not be able to provide my own cases because of my other duties during the workshop. But in informal discussions or in emerging situations I might contribute on the sidelines. For the other participants to know what the two situations are that I will be thinking about, I refer to them here:

a) I am in close partnership with Mark Farahani on the ventures he is operating in Kilosa in Tanzania. I leave it to him to take care of the learning that can be achieved with that venture in the workshop.

b) I'm working with a small Lao solar company on making rural craftsmen/women capable of installing and servicing reliable equipment in their areas, and run a small enterprise doing that. These SE are serviced by the company with which they have a franchise agreement. It will be interesting to see how this entirely commercial effort will fit with donor-designed efforts in SDRA.

My topical interests:
Due to my facilitator role, I have no topical priorities.
